The choulame
uA young man one day left home to travel the vast world in order to learn about real life. Before he leaves, his mother warns him: “Do not take forbidden paths, my son!” If you see a knotted bag, don't untie it! And if you find yourself in danger, think of me! »
The son promised to remember all these recommendations, but as soon as he left the yurt he forgot the maternal advice. He traveled one day, then another, and he came to a path where two crossbones were lying on the ground. We do not go down such paths! But the young man didn't want to turn around. “I have so much strength in my two arms that I have nothing to fear,” he said to himself. So he took the forbidden path and suddenly saw in front of him a bag closed with three knots. “What could it possibly contain? » he asked himself then. Curious, he untied the three knots. At this precise moment a choulame burst out of the bag, a shaggy monster, equipped with tentacles, with an enormous mouth and large sharp teeth.
“I thank you for freeing me! shouted the choulame. »
“I thank you for freeing me! shouted the choulame. »
—How did you end up in this bag? asked the young man.
— I was taking away the village's livestock, replied the choulame, and the inhabitants caught me with a lasso. Now that I'm free, I can take revenge. But I'm going to eat you first to regain my strength!
—Is this how you show your gratitude to me? lamented the young man.
“We Choulames don't know what gratitude is,” retorted the monster. We only know hunger and revenge.
— Oh, mom! If only I had listened to you! » the young man said to himself quietly.
Suddenly, as if calling her, her mother appeared.
She bowed deeply before the monster and said: “It is very clear, noble sir, that you have every right to eat my son who has just delivered you. But I can't believe that someone as big as you could have gotten into this bag...
- You don't believe me? So, take a good look! » said the choulame. And he jumped into the bag. Only his head was sticking out now.
“No, I can’t believe you. I still see your face,” the woman replied. The choulame put his head into the bag and, immediately, the mother closed it and tied three knots.
The monster tried to free itself, but in vain.
“You see, my son, if I did not watch over you and if I had not heard your call, you would already be dead. Why didn't you listen to me? »
And the young man promised his mother to always follow her recommendations
